Rylie is 4!
She's four. So much fun. It is so cliche but it is so true, it really goes by so very fast. We had a great day, came up to Davis and had a small cupcake decorating soiree with all of our OPP peeps, and just enjoyed hanging out. Disneyland is the big present this year, but Chris did get her a stylish tie-dyed hot pink shirt from DC (which she loves) and we also gave her a princess umbrella and a Hannah Montana necklace, oooh with genuine crystals (Love Wal-Mart Clearance). Her favorite things right now are of course, Disney Princess, and playing the guessing-rhyming-opposite game. She loves anything with sugar in it and make a fantastic personal pizza tonight. It was a wonderful day and I am so thankful that we have her in our lives. Happy Birthday Rylers.

Recent pics of everyone...
This past month has been busy, but really fun. Time has flown by..this month we are looking forward to Rylie turning 4...I can hardly believe that much time has past, I still look at her and am in awe that I am actually her mother. She is such a little hamburger, it's the best. And in celebration of the big number cuatro, we are venturing to SoCal and hitting up the big DLand...which will be great. We have been camping, going to school, playing w fam and seriously pumped about our Cougar Football. Fall is my favorite season. The leaves, the air, sweaters and jeans...sign me up, I'm ready.

Already September???
I think I might get the award for the worst blogger ever...I think I average like 1 post every 3 months, or something like that. Things have been crazy fun lately. Started school again and I have to say I really think this might be the last go around with the first graders. The class is so cute and sweet as can be, the problem is that they are 6...can't sit still to save their lives and raising their hands is a lost concept. I think I might like to bump it up a couple notches and try some older kids again...I think that 3 and 5th are the only grades that I haven't had the pleasure of teaching, so I might try my luck on those bad boys. Rylie is in the 4s class and having a great time, especially because now she gets live music with Miss Elena playing the piano! She thinks that is just the coolest. Ryles is so much fun to be around and constantly makes me laugh with what she is thinking, because it is always said out loud. CB came home from Washington and it has been so nice to be able to have him around in Stocktown. (He subletted his apartment in Davis and cant go back until Oct) We had the fabulous opportunity to head over to Provo and see the UCLA game. It was so much fun to be all nostalgic and visit the old haunts. Good memories, and great because the Cougs were indeed mighty. A big 59-0 win over the Bruins. Rise and Shout! It was great. So with that trip down, the next one up is taking Ryles to Disneyland for the big 4! If anyone has any Disneyland advice I would gladly appreciate it. Hope all is well!

Summer Lovin'
So Hallelujah! Summer school is over. I had the most interesting class. I was really done about 3 weeks into it and I had to be strong and pull through for another 3 weeks...but now I get to be single stay at home mom and I looooove staying home. I am soaking up every possible moment with the little one and it is great. We have been keeping busy with library, the Children's Museum, organizing the dress up clothes that are in abundance in her closet and next week we will be heading to the beach with my fam for a week. But, before I do that, I get to attend my 10 year high school reunion. I can hardly believe that it has been 10 years. It will be interesting to see everyone. Then alas, I will have to return to school in a little under 3 weeks....bleh. I am really working on finding the excitement somewhere, maybe it is at the beach. For the meantime, everyone is doing well and I am having a great time with my 3 year old that is going on 17. The other night in the tub she told me that I am not going to be her boss forever and that one day she is going to be the mom and have the kids and then she will be the boss. Those are just snippets of our conversations. Great times. Hope everyone is well.

Summer Days
Well, I guess I am averaging 3 months per post...I'm way on top of my game. I have been teaching summer school. The great deal with summer school is that I work from 8 to 1 everyday and have Fridays off. So it is nice to have lots of time to spend with the little one, who is not so little anymore. She is keeping busy at preschool and is loving it. She currently is visiting Chris is Seattle right now and she is having so much fun that she can scarcely find the time to talk to me on the phone. I, meanwhile have no idea what to do to fill the time without her being here. I am looking forward to her coming home. So that is about all the fun times. Rylie is great. She is talking up a storm and I find myself realizing that she is way smarter than I am. Summer is hot and the air quality has been awful, but we have found creative ways to pass the time inside. Hope all is well with all of you who even still read this...=) Lots of loves

28 days and counting...
Deep sigh. We just finished standardized state testing which I must say, was an eye-opening and very frustrating experience. Cross your fingers that they did moderately well. So my dear next door neighbor and team member at school just invited all of us over for some popcorn, red vines and Capri Suns to watch "Meet the Robinson's" with her kids. So I thought it would be a good opportunity to post up. There are 28 days of school left, which is crazy, but nice. Then there is about a week reprieve then I am teaching summer school with one of my girlfriends, so it will not be too bad working during the summer. I get solace in the fact though that normal jobs dont get 3 months in the summer off, so it is really okay if I work 8 weeks. Ryles has been incredible lately. We went from pneumonia to a high fever to a bacterial eye infection that spread to both eyes and then an ear infection. How fun has that been? Needless to say I have one sick day left. She seems to be doing well now, so I am hoping this will hold out. Chris just got an internship in WA for Microsoft so he is going to be off doing exciting fun stuff all summer. He will come down to visit Ryles and she will get to go up there for a few days as well which is an adventure that I am sure will be good times. Hope everyone is doing well. Take care

Bigger and Bigger...
Rylie's teacher, Miss Mary (who is every kind of fabulous) sent these pics of her at school to me. She is getting big and makes me laugh everyday. Thursday at school she told me I had to come with her because I had to meet two very important people, George Washington, our first president and Mom, this is a picture of George Lincoln, our 16th president....he is on the penny...the brown little one. Oh, what would I do if she wasn't around to point these things out. =) We went to Disney Princesses on Ice with a girlfriend from school and her niece. It was awesome. I have never been to an ice show, ever....but I was amazed. It was a good show, if you guys haven't taken little ones to it, I highly recommend it. Let's see what else? School is good. The year is passing very quickly and I get a little nauseated when I think I am going to leave third graders and have kindergartners next Fall. Oh no. State testing is in a few weeks. Oh boy how I love no child left behind. Genius. 7 and 8 year olds, sitting still for an hour and a half and filling in scantron bubbles, if that is not a recipe for success of measuring their knowledge, I am not sure what is. I am also in the mix of planning the big 10 reunion for high school. I am actually looking forward to it, it will be a great time to see a lot of old friends. I have 6 months to lose 100 pounds...;) Hope all are well...Lots of love to everyone.

No me gusta rainy day schedule
With the craziness of the holidays, I kind of forgot that I had a blog... I thought being the end of January it might be time for an update. Fun times. We made it through Christmas. It was wonderful. Rylie had way too much, but I think that she enjoyed herself throughly. The big list items were Leapfrog and a skateboard...I got her a scooter because I didnt really feel 3 years old and skateboard were a good combo. She opened it, looked at me and said, "Mom, this is a scooter, not a skateboard." Nice. She is getting way big and way sassy. She is currently obsessed with any Disney Princess movie and old school Annie. Which is a fun kick back. Speaking of, she found an old bag with my stuffed animals and is having a great old time with Rainbow Brite and my old Lady from Lady and the Tramp. Over Christmas break we also moved into a new house, living with the mom and dad, as wonderful and gracious as they have been, was getting a little overrated...so if anyone feels the need to come to Northern California, you are more than welcome to stay with us. Lots of love to you all. Hope all is going fabulously well.
