So much fun. It is so cliche but it is so true, it really goes by so very fast. We had a great day, came up to Davis and had a small cupcake decorating soiree with all of our OPP peeps, and just enjoyed hanging out. Disneyland is the big present this year, but Chris did get her a stylish tie-dyed hot pink shirt from DC (which she loves) and we also gave her a princess umbrella and a Hannah Montana necklace, oooh with genuine crystals (Love Wal-Mart Clearance). Her favorite things right now are of course, Disney Princess, and playing the guessing-rhyming-opposite game. She loves anything with sugar in it and make a fantastic personal pizza tonight. It was a wonderful day and I am so thankful that we have her in our lives. Happy Birthday Rylers.Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18371054415084578055noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1145991914739646130.post-10134916269961349422008-10-03T19:47:00.000-07:002008-10-03T20:11:00.522-07:00Recent pics of everyone...<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiB6bs_46G1xn5awA-JzxpVhIY1H-NW3v1PahpHvGT4XpYq3i__ag3cRm6swyCpONt9RWhz9_McLzaUTA5l58qOXLmik-GXblcedplg5qdpgFgKl_wd2ILb2bCbBIQRI2NhIzA4nwdvfnc/s1600-h/firstdaysoccerutah+002.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiB6bs_46G1xn5awA-JzxpVhIY1H-NW3v1PahpHvGT4XpYq3i__ag3cRm6swyCpONt9RWhz9_McLzaUTA5l58qOXLmik-GXblcedplg5qdpgFgKl_wd2ILb2bCbBIQRI2NhIzA4nwdvfnc/s400/firstdaysoccerutah+002.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5253129949665501074" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1kvqsc3rMU5MNPKGQJXn39bRofXWD-t0wl6hpzuDoOqk__-u31yHA-bMQ40gJ5yNEfaEr42758i4IeZTuAcJJyM953ni9hG3EevkN7oPYqZ6MaWbFOPpe7iTZLur5Kzlbdb7Np1DUepU/s1600-h/firstdaysoccerutah+008.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1kvqsc3rMU5MNPKGQJXn39bRofXWD-t0wl6hpzuDoOqk__-u31yHA-bMQ40gJ5yNEfaEr42758i4IeZTuAcJJyM953ni9hG3EevkN7oPYqZ6MaWbFOPpe7iTZLur5Kzlbdb7Np1DUepU/s400/firstdaysoccerutah+008.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5253129960550386002" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirjaOSaqkPyAnJVJtuDJ7nxGxEhpXtxkNo261VF2t7Cc78S2zHfolWmUtNfjGWXwetmi3DoJaL0EWqW8IvqnHw2QV-ew9VyHvBJ8eZ6SdjZNi9fgWLO2yL7gCX0Kj_fiPCTXLlOns75sU/s1600-h/firstdaysoccerutah+024.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirjaOSaqkPyAnJVJtuDJ7nxGxEhpXtxkNo261VF2t7Cc78S2zHfolWmUtNfjGWXwetmi3DoJaL0EWqW8IvqnHw2QV-ew9VyHvBJ8eZ6SdjZNi9fgWLO2yL7gCX0Kj_fiPCTXLlOns75sU/s400/firstdaysoccerutah+024.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5253129958552817634" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2RJmyPTDOSccFC2EhKjXpwYU72KZ2V0pB_U5F8WIHyZzwDz25jFCG4qyrZg86lLXwCOYf1m5uBqVvOkFoVkBkAHvvglUdFWGVKkI-gRbZSZl3fcF6aC6kLk5sBHx8KqsnSekBoCSukbI/s1600-h/firstdaysoccerutah+035.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2RJmyPTDOSccFC2EhKjXpwYU72KZ2V0pB_U5F8WIHyZzwDz25jFCG4qyrZg86lLXwCOYf1m5uBqVvOkFoVkBkAHvvglUdFWGVKkI-gRbZSZl3fcF6aC6kLk5sBHx8KqsnSekBoCSukbI/s400/firstdaysoccerutah+035.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5253129964425319794" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguIXhr3x5S3Emv8DPyCAVc_N6AQXoaPQtv28wlyh-qLDYfLrx2OAhoqkC44sKzuhqsPwrrfIfM4WIVjyQUjfLb_q8m12N7IaIs1NIfi923H62LLfBel-attlTygXxAf_SHR7jgNAeuauk/s1600-h/firstdaysoccerutah+045.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguIXhr3x5S3Emv8DPyCAVc_N6AQXoaPQtv28wlyh-qLDYfLrx2OAhoqkC44sKzuhqsPwrrfIfM4WIVjyQUjfLb_q8m12N7IaIs1NIfi923H62LLfBel-attlTygXxAf_SHR7jgNAeuauk/s400/firstdaysoccerutah+045.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5253129973756911778" border="0" /></a><br />This past month has been busy, but really fun. Time has flown by..this month we are looking forward to Rylie turning 4...I can hardly believe that much time has past, I still look at her and am in awe that I am actually her mother. She is such a little hamburger, it's the best. And in celebration of the big number cuatro, we are venturing to SoCal and hitting up the big DLand...which will be great. We have been camping, going to school, playing w fam and seriously pumped about our Cougar Football. Fall is my favorite season. The leaves, the air, sweaters and jeans...sign me up, I'm ready.Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18371054415084578055noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1145991914739646130.post-12450490708983316152008-09-17T20:54:00.000-07:002008-09-17T21:01:41.882-07:00Already September???I think I might get the award for the worst blogger ever...I think I average like 1 post every 3 months, or something like that. Things have been crazy fun lately. Started school again and I have to say I really think this might be the last go around with the first graders. The class is so cute and sweet as can be, the problem is that they are 6...can't sit still to save their lives and raising their hands is a lost concept. I think I might like to bump it up a couple notches and try some older kids again...I think that 3 and 5th are the only grades that I haven't had the pleasure of teaching, so I might try my luck on those bad boys. Rylie is in the 4s class and having a great time, especially because now she gets live music with Miss Elena playing the piano! She thinks that is just the coolest. Ryles is so much fun to be around and constantly makes me laugh with what she is thinking, because it is always said out loud. CB came home from Washington and it has been so nice to be able to have him around in Stocktown. (He subletted his apartment in Davis and cant go back until Oct) We had the fabulous opportunity to head over to Provo and see the UCLA game. It was so much fun to be all nostalgic and visit the old haunts. Good memories, and great because the Cougs were indeed mighty. A big 59-0 win over the Bruins. Rise and Shout! It was great. So with that trip down, the next one up is taking Ryles to Disneyland for the big 4! If anyone has any Disneyland advice I would gladly appreciate it. Hope all is well!Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18371054415084578055noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1145991914739646130.post-5710939442479213292008-07-30T14:07:00.001-07:002020-06-14T09:08:00.837-07:00Summer Lovin'<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4COVgTx0t8SYWOdUeuBQnEbvrAGWAYFlA1LCVDVs2vFpcuwSSzgLNSbTWkvsMRO4mSk46IGMxFGoac3l8ZWaL0g5Zd7q1SlK7hRChDAtOdyJyck0liZr-ON2ctKpSd1wplg22j4les_c/s1600-h/044.JPG" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5228917624194955074" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4COVgTx0t8SYWOdUeuBQnEbvrAGWAYFlA1LCVDVs2vFpcuwSSzgLNSbTWkvsMRO4mSk46IGMxFGoac3l8ZWaL0g5Zd7q1SlK7hRChDAtOdyJyck0liZr-ON2ctKpSd1wplg22j4les_c/s400/044.JPG" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center;" /></a><br />

So Hallelujah! Summer school is over. I had the most interesting class. I was really done about 3 weeks into it and I had to be strong and pull through for another 3 weeks...but now I get to be single stay at home mom and I looooove staying home. I am soaking up every possible moment with the little one and it is great. We have been keeping busy with library, the Children's Museum, organizing the dress up clothes that are in abundance in her closet and next week we will be heading to the beach with my fam for a week. But, before I do that, I get to attend my 10 year high school reunion. I can hardly believe that it has been 10 years. It will be interesting to see everyone. Then alas, I will have to return to school in a little under 3 weeks....bleh. I am really working on finding the excitement somewhere, maybe it is at the beach. For the meantime, everyone is doing well and I am having a great time with my 3 year old that is going on 17. The other night in the tub she told me that I am not going to be her boss forever and that one day she is going to be the mom and have the kids and then she will be the boss. Those are just snippets of our conversations. Great times. Hope everyone is well.Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18371054415084578055noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1145991914739646130.post-57493108481134955562008-07-09T17:34:00.001-07:002020-06-14T09:12:20.955-07:00Summer Days<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg15SCaJl6hgl5FtXo1CfD2Xu0lwilK0YVjDgb2DUCuyCjEpRGfgL8wZ9lvnhykyIC0u5nWsKMbMsfty0wuo6ZpJOQHJeIUQNQ4INT5UdASuxpCS3HQffhQwyQI2PcqraF2s3WBHpoKIAU/s1600-h/rileyat+idylwood.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5221177953538962930" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg15SCaJl6hgl5FtXo1CfD2Xu0lwilK0YVjDgb2DUCuyCjEpRGfgL8wZ9lvnhykyIC0u5nWsKMbMsfty0wuo6ZpJOQHJeIUQNQ4INT5UdASuxpCS3HQffhQwyQI2PcqraF2s3WBHpoKIAU/s400/rileyat+idylwood.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center;" /></a><br />
Well, I guess I am averaging 3 months per post...I'm way on top of my game. I have been teaching summer school. The great deal with summer school is that I work from 8 to 1 everyday and have Fridays off. So it is nice to have lots of time to spend with the little one, who is not so little anymore. She is keeping busy at preschool and is loving it. She currently is visiting Chris is Seattle right now and she is having so much fun that she can scarcely find the time to talk to me on the phone. I, meanwhile have no idea what to do to fill the time without her being here. I am looking forward to her coming home. So that is about all the fun times. Rylie is great. She is talking up a storm and I find myself realizing that she is way smarter than I am. Summer is hot and the air quality has been awful, but we have found creative ways to pass the time inside. Hope all is well with all of you who even still read this...=) Lots of loves<br />

We just finished standardized state testing which I must say, was an eye-opening and very frustrating experience. Cross your fingers that they did moderately well. So my dear next door neighbor and team member at school just invited all of us over for some popcorn, red vines and Capri Suns to watch "Meet the Robinson's" with her kids. So I thought it would be a good opportunity to post up. There are 28 days of school left, which is crazy, but nice. Then there is about a week reprieve then I am teaching summer school with one of my girlfriends, so it will not be too bad working during the summer. I get solace in the fact though that normal jobs dont get 3 months in the summer off, so it is really okay if I work 8 weeks. Ryles has been incredible lately. We went from pneumonia to a high fever to a bacterial eye infection that spread to both eyes and then an ear infection. How fun has that been? Needless to say I have one sick day left. She seems to be doing well now, so I am hoping this will hold out. Chris just got an internship in WA for Microsoft so he is going to be off doing exciting fun stuff all summer. He will come down to visit Ryles and she will get to go up there for a few days as well which is an adventure that I am sure will be good times. Hope everyone is doing well. Take careErinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18371054415084578055noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1145991914739646130.post-40299050885841866032008-02-24T16:52:00.000-08:002008-02-24T17:04:45.055-08:00Bigger and Bigger...<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmnlNlaAzqkjulHQ0yeHKlhdfWrpJXZJsIHU8Uoq5DnFXFdtmRF4NznC7NIBfGav4wOJJFVBT0MYyFvH1lLD6oAcwe3-E3htqBJZlFPI7FXHMrHFygLuNjHTRglqKbMVNSGrAlNwTJt-Y/s1600-h/biscuit+at+school+1.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmnlNlaAzqkjulHQ0yeHKlhdfWrpJXZJsIHU8Uoq5DnFXFdtmRF4NznC7NIBfGav4wOJJFVBT0MYyFvH1lLD6oAcwe3-E3htqBJZlFPI7FXHMrHFygLuNjHTRglqKbMVNSGrAlNwTJt-Y/s400/biscuit+at+school+1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5170715285515557490" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUgJzLYBVqvMlrZk1xq6AvFQQ2pvoV9CIS8jlx4krJFUlqIXsxdST4jzhCcDGofdA5LaNz6TRH8cAryod1CpA4nq4ETEB0H7bkVlGSEHv7pX-fiQiJImavO8boictzkb5JoPFzHUP_Jgo/s1600-h/biscuit+at+school+2.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUgJzLYBVqvMlrZk1xq6AvFQQ2pvoV9CIS8jlx4krJFUlqIXsxdST4jzhCcDGofdA5LaNz6TRH8cAryod1CpA4nq4ETEB0H7bkVlGSEHv7pX-fiQiJImavO8boictzkb5JoPFzHUP_Jgo/s400/biscuit+at+school+2.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5170715285515557506" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4of9hjWCsYMYke4Iqx_jN6BOjwcR1VituKtLkUhXQvCWfbNKW_eFI3pM_0NjI4LO-THUl9ZR7xW5vkiuYlSr_KKulgWM5qNn7STzKnLfjkX6-2TgAbkGSNYbE2KVaBaoVRzzjCZ8TRAQ/s1600-h/biscuit+at+school+3.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4of9hjWCsYMYke4Iqx_jN6BOjwcR1VituKtLkUhXQvCWfbNKW_eFI3pM_0NjI4LO-THUl9ZR7xW5vkiuYlSr_KKulgWM5qNn7STzKnLfjkX6-2TgAbkGSNYbE2KVaBaoVRzzjCZ8TRAQ/s400/biscuit+at+school+3.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5170715289810524818" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgL0Wh3p-Xl3QkAi6BE7tuPX_WThqvQIMEi6ZtGwF3OYLVjMiqMIozQ6mHY3BZgvs6zVwNARDsX7MDt9jW_OapJJgEoZy-R24uuMT39E2xU3WhjlELvE9MXFmZqT5Z8uzxJ9MKQPlKFdPg/s1600-h/biscuit+at+school+4.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgL0Wh3p-Xl3QkAi6BE7tuPX_WThqvQIMEi6ZtGwF3OYLVjMiqMIozQ6mHY3BZgvs6zVwNARDsX7MDt9jW_OapJJgEoZy-R24uuMT39E2xU3WhjlELvE9MXFmZqT5Z8uzxJ9MKQPlKFdPg/s400/biscuit+at+school+4.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5170715294105492130" border="0" /></a><br /><br />Rylie's teacher, Miss Mary (who is every kind of fabulous) sent these pics of her at school to me. She is getting big and makes me laugh everyday. Thursday at school she told me I had to come with her because I had to meet two very important people, George Washington, our first president and Mom, this is a picture of George Lincoln, our 16th president....he is on the penny...the brown little one. Oh, what would I do if she wasn't around to point these things out. =) We went to Disney Princesses on Ice with a girlfriend from school and her niece. It was awesome. I have never been to an ice show, ever....but I was amazed. It was a good show, if you guys haven't taken little ones to it, I highly recommend it. Let's see what else? School is good. The year is passing very quickly and I get a little nauseated when I think I am going to leave third graders and have kindergartners next Fall. Oh no. State testing is in a few weeks. Oh boy how I love no child left behind. Genius. 7 and 8 year olds, sitting still for an hour and a half and filling in scantron bubbles, if that is not a recipe for success of measuring their knowledge, I am not sure what is. I am also in the mix of planning the big 10 reunion for high school. I am actually looking forward to it, it will be a great time to see a lot of old friends. I have 6 months to lose 100 pounds...;) Hope all are well...Lots of love to everyone.Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18371054415084578055noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1145991914739646130.post-69503263853632742572008-01-23T08:49:00.000-08:002008-01-23T08:59:22.495-08:00No me gusta rainy day scheduleWith the craziness of the holidays, I kind of forgot that I had a blog... I thought being the end of January it might be time for an update. Fun times. We made it through Christmas. It was wonderful. Rylie had way too much, but I think that she enjoyed herself throughly. The big list items were Leapfrog and a skateboard...I got her a scooter because I didnt really feel 3 years old and skateboard were a good combo. She opened it, looked at me and said, "Mom, this is a scooter, not a skateboard." Nice. She is getting way big and way sassy. She is currently obsessed with any Disney Princess movie and old school Annie. Which is a fun kick back. Speaking of, she found an old bag with my stuffed animals and is having a great old time with Rainbow Brite and my old Lady from Lady and the Tramp. Over Christmas break we also moved into a new house, living with the mom and dad, as wonderful and gracious as they have been, was getting a little overrated...so if anyone feels the need to come to Northern California, you are more than welcome to stay with us. Lots of love to you all. Hope all is going fabulously well.Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18371054415084578055noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1145991914739646130.post-88921353743090924692007-11-21T12:59:00.001-08:002007-11-21T13:28:11.075-08:00Is it really November????<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgieuaPfm16gBaOe6UnqEkpKJLE0msIVpYf8_4ZIwv6Hk-9I3nlGWXl_wODgmrpbfpr778YPDxdsMT9lPUXjVRf5FwLVgD6ZjmAisgyxFS7yF3qq-gn6Pff1AB4kwVNTnOGI1thWCUUmng/s1600-h/rylie's+3rd+bday+001.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgieuaPfm16gBaOe6UnqEkpKJLE0msIVpYf8_4ZIwv6Hk-9I3nlGWXl_wODgmrpbfpr778YPDxdsMT9lPUXjVRf5FwLVgD6ZjmAisgyxFS7yF3qq-gn6Pff1AB4kwVNTnOGI1thWCUUmng/s400/rylie's+3rd+bday+001.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5135407565384443874" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTWeavMqRjfpa9do1qZbz6RxAbgUnUZa0m0Djv17-YReWLZJ5KT_pYrno4VZkUZSt8e2pWDV44iZMSmzp6yaVZhwnVScWfbst32-5a6LijyrskL19ziZca9zgCeBnAbOEZsJUzvtMU7cw/s1600-h/rylie's+3rd+bday+030.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTWeavMqRjfpa9do1qZbz6RxAbgUnUZa0m0Djv17-YReWLZJ5KT_pYrno4VZkUZSt8e2pWDV44iZMSmzp6yaVZhwnVScWfbst32-5a6LijyrskL19ziZca9zgCeBnAbOEZsJUzvtMU7cw/s400/rylie's+3rd+bday+030.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5135404795130537938" border="0" /></a><br />Hi Kj...I'm not dead, just a bad friend with no internet connection....=) Ok, here we go. I might have to break out the planner to see just what has gone on this month or two...Well first off and most fun, Ryles turned 3!!! So great, we had a great time partying it up in Davis and at the good ol' Pixie Woods here in Stocktown. A lot of Disney Princess and a lot of sugar. It was fabulous. I was trying to be crafty and did in fact sew about...let's say 65% of her princess costume. Chris and I took her trick or treating and not only did she really get the hang of it, she told us to wait on the sidewalk outside each house because she wanted to do it "All by herself!". My favorite quote of the night was most definitely "This is the most fun ever" and she screamed in between houses. After all of the Halloween/birthday festivities...I took the mom to see Gwen Stefani. She and the Harajuku girls actually came to the Stockton Arena. So the mom and I went and had a great time, albeit except for Truth getting violently ill and not being able to come and play. Neel threw a spectacular bash for the big 27, my wonderful team members took me to lunch, and went to some great hometown Mexican food with the fam and then hit up Kelly Clarkson with Neel. A great way to ring in another year of getting older. Time seems to be flying by. I cant believe that it is Thanksgiving tomorrow and then Christmas is right around the corner. As hectic as life is (I had 4 2nd graders suspended in the last 3 weeks, some more than once, fun huh?) I have so much to be thankful for...Wondeful fam and friends and this one little girl, who even though in time out the other night told us that she "hates this world" is the light and happiness of my life...Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18371054415084578055noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1145991914739646130.post-69939567992121212832007-10-03T19:22:00.000-07:002007-10-03T19:32:50.802-07:00Hold me closer Tiny Dancer...<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgk0DQQrkC3X8YkVcBb41eFk0_XXm5vPEBDgnKUWpptDb0RIecBYDA_-xZ0RY0S7CTncvodZkad8LaTnJIu0yuuTlzQQwxSMElKhl91P1O41DBGAyfUd5uzBPfYyd4m9tHOcR_fTH1PurA/s1600-h/Ballerina+004.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgk0DQQrkC3X8YkVcBb41eFk0_XXm5vPEBDgnKUWpptDb0RIecBYDA_-xZ0RY0S7CTncvodZkad8LaTnJIu0yuuTlzQQwxSMElKhl91P1O41DBGAyfUd5uzBPfYyd4m9tHOcR_fTH1PurA/s400/Ballerina+004.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5117303676326228354" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitrbo2r-SSKph5U8gmBfB6pvLcaTBHEPeM1tEgJ06o6BV66muXnU08ni234KMid_4Xn4fn2XitnbPPp9ydhb4gE3VNtlsMD7n0FsKH91nKw9iypciSsLmHcUE4_2pt-DTQ8QFYMYEUASY/s1600-h/Ballerina+003.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitrbo2r-SSKph5U8gmBfB6pvLcaTBHEPeM1tEgJ06o6BV66muXnU08ni234KMid_4Xn4fn2XitnbPPp9ydhb4gE3VNtlsMD7n0FsKH91nKw9iypciSsLmHcUE4_2pt-DTQ8QFYMYEUASY/s400/Ballerina+003.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5117303452987928946" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicBQSCQX7BauzEN0dyOysWnVMNA83msPBzqa1QMOXsnSOGjc2G2XsOPboGsddVjxqvltzZhahAZA6Fr22VRsRiBEi49BV5x6w34Jc39D-Ovkf9ucQS_oHkdUjLoCSyWlMLTERPu7k-U0s/s1600-h/Ballerina+002.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicBQSCQX7BauzEN0dyOysWnVMNA83msPBzqa1QMOXsnSOGjc2G2XsOPboGsddVjxqvltzZhahAZA6Fr22VRsRiBEi49BV5x6w34Jc39D-Ovkf9ucQS_oHkdUjLoCSyWlMLTERPu7k-U0s/s400/Ballerina+002.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5117302709958586722" border="0" /></a><br />Okay, so the quality of these pictures aren't the best, because I am pretty sure that my camera is lame-o and I have NO clue how to get it un-fuzzy these days...but Ryles is starting ballet tomorrow! We had a dress rehearsal of sorts tonight and she was loving it. It is really the greatest, I love it and I don't even get to go. She loves dancing, singing, really anything that will draw attention to herself. Maybe she will get some great scholarship and I wont have to pay for college, we can dream right?Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18371054415084578055noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1145991914739646130.post-42199484575189715882007-09-30T21:21:00.000-07:002007-09-30T21:27:01.045-07:00Keepin' it Real SimpleRead this the other day in an old Real Simple magazine and loved it, so I thought I would share...<br /><br />"The best reason to take your time is that this time is the only time you'll ever have. You must take it, or it will be taken from you. It is telling that the phrase "taking your time" is synonymous with slowing down. If we want to live life fully, we do best to slow down. I don't suggest that we turn back the clock, trying to retrieve a bygone era when life was slower. We couldn't even if we wanted to. But I don't believe we should want to. We should revel in our electronically supercharged, unbounded world. But, to make the most out of this new world, to avoid feeling overbooked, overstretched, and about to snap, to make modern life become better than life has ever been, a person must learn how to do what matters most first. Otherwise, you will bulldoze over life's best moments. You won't notice the little charms that adorn each day, nor will you ever transform the mundane into the extraordinary."<br /><br />Excerpted form Crazybusy, by Edward M. I can hardly believe this. Well Little Miss Rylie Bird is indeed turning the big 3 and I am having a party for her in the infamous Pixie Woods. Now those of us from the 209 have fond memories of this mecca of all things fun...when we were children. The eyes of the innocent look past the cobwebs and chipped paint and see just pure fun. Ryles has been there a few times when I had play groups in the Summer and loved it. They have an Alice in Wonderland themed birthday party area, so I though how cute, she can be Alice for Halloween and we can have the party there....Took her to the fabric store (because I am either being ambitious or dumb, I haven't decided yet) to get the material and pattern to make her costume. All those who are seasoned parents have told me that was my first mistake. Homegirl looked through the books, and honestly Alice is boring, just a blue dress with a white apron....compared to the pink foo foo la la princess that she is now going to be (it has a cone hat with a veil and everything...) So I decided much to my chagrin, to let her pick what she wanted to be and now I am making a pretty pretty princess costume and still throwing the Alice bash. I got her, well Nana got her, the funniest shirt from the internet. It is an old school picture in color of the Alice in Wonderland artwork that you think of when you are thinking of the old school Lewis Carroll art work....And underneath the caption reads, "Who let Blondie in". I think actually it will work out better, her costume probably would have been torn up....So maybe in the end, everything works out ok...at least let's hope.<br /><br /><br />I have been in the habit (three years now, three times, that constitutes a habit right?) of making her birthday invites...here's the latest product. So Phoebes, Rache, Kristi, Kristin, Jules and anyone else that I am leaving out (Sorry!)...in the area, more than welcome...=)Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18371054415084578055noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1145991914739646130.post-36531315020999664622007-09-26T23:14:00.000-07:002007-09-26T23:32:42.705-07:00Preschool is tiring!<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEik7EFIEk3DL3DYjPH0PH-ApjxtYsg2DCG_F-eujL6zkf8CZrK10xeE4NSy3f64K1jzONhJdBTx4FRvF5mZdTT-5_VtAHwt_3JpxMuPPbqvyQ_r2zcZnek0nDAzqr8oKHKJwR9asC7XOBI/s1600-h/DSCF0217.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEik7EFIEk3DL3DYjPH0PH-ApjxtYsg2DCG_F-eujL6zkf8CZrK10xeE4NSy3f64K1jzONhJdBTx4FRvF5mZdTT-5_VtAHwt_3JpxMuPPbqvyQ_r2zcZnek0nDAzqr8oKHKJwR9asC7XOBI/s400/DSCF0217.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5114763761516392754" border="0" /></a><br />This week is parent teacher conference, so I went to pick up small fry early from preschool....I walked in and Miss Megan told me that she couldn't keep her eyes open during the goodbye song, so she excused herself to the playhouse. And this is what we found, my little mini one on the mini couch, didn't even make it to the mini bedroom. High five for Miss Mary for taking the picture. Or make my own theme song, either of those things would be good.Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18371054415084578055noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1145991914739646130.post-51926677988402901612007-09-19T13:46:00.000-07:002007-09-19T14:09:49.068-07:00Ode to peanut butter and jelly...<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCneHuQFGbxGAiGo9CuyVtFIugunHifHeIJ4on1LXZ6DZtw8wGA_UQ8HUpcEYG0oVXqc5IMyLXuP8DjA3SXuAXddEl7FM0Z4XSIl6f1VwX-CIrXa1j0iGDHrN1R3O3JZUw4UfKE62Gk0I/s1600-h/mariannesandboardwalk+044.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCneHuQFGbxGAiGo9CuyVtFIugunHifHeIJ4on1LXZ6DZtw8wGA_UQ8HUpcEYG0oVXqc5IMyLXuP8DjA3SXuAXddEl7FM0Z4XSIl6f1VwX-CIrXa1j0iGDHrN1R3O3JZUw4UfKE62Gk0I/s320/mariannesandboardwalk+044.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5112025171282690802" border="0" /></a><br />So this blog is dedicated to all things Rylie Mikelle Bird who along with her homeboy Calvin turn 3 next month, cannot believe it at all...but I wanted to give a little shout along to a couple peeps who have meant so much to me, especially with all the craziness that has been my life. The last two years have been way not fun, I have learned a lot about myself and a whole lot about the people in my life...Some people who you think you know better than anything in the whole wide world, turn out to be people that you didn't know really at all and didn't know you, which is a terribly sad and empty feeling. But then there are those who do really know you and really love you who stick by you like white on rice or peanut butter to jelly.<br /><br />Ode to my peanut butter and jelly...<br />Thank you Jha and thank you Kj....One of you my best friend for forever and a day, my dolphin in a rain puddle...I was looking for a pic I had online, but I think that I am just going to have to break down and scan one of the old Bball pics, I think that that sums it all up. You the only one who came all the way to Who-tah to visit, who I can call and talk about the same thing 50 times without so much as a sigh from you. Thank you for staying in Cali, although I get a lot of compliments on my Kentucky shirt and gives me an excuse to talk in my southern drawl...I dont know what I'd do without you... and the other, one of my besties from college who I can always count on to keep it real and be so caring and empathetic... I can't listen to Rascal Flats without thoughts of you picking me up in the truck at Wymount and hauling to Mr. V's class, yuck. Senior projects, fun stories, even more fun times.<br /><br />Loves to you both.<br /><br /><br />Thanks...<br /><br />Yay to good friends.Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18371054415084578055noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1145991914739646130.post-32418192433752176132007-09-09T09:13:00.000-07:002007-09-10T12:26:56.271-07:00This is why I love having a girl!<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjgPwY_BkUtar_DasR1UgEYO-DqPUiyfHrBRE5C_3_s-zA3YNmWCn2NWKv_VmZxLbsG5YYB86tEHPPGW9I2kpMjbUipwgLYGiUE_XQAO8zekZA3o34XvmiOr9GX3lTfejPlUOQm2ZBFTQ/s1600-h/ryliefirstdayofschoolandatthehouse+003.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjgPwY_BkUtar_DasR1UgEYO-DqPUiyfHrBRE5C_3_s-zA3YNmWCn2NWKv_VmZxLbsG5YYB86tEHPPGW9I2kpMjbUipwgLYGiUE_XQAO8zekZA3o34XvmiOr9GX3lTfejPlUOQm2ZBFTQ/s200/ryliefirstdayofschoolandatthehouse+003.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5108239239458947058" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0RabW8Ut6lDY30Y_ZfUbg_iBjIIDjW0X75rgKLgMWc4FMRg6UdkJuCWTr_dP2dVI5Q5Ycz3Ih_4M7hm-WpRpRFlGZO_b-PtIs_0pK5VIZ0ayMffeJbefcCleo7SrzXTRdz3jIRrbt0uM/s1600-h/ryliefirstdayofschoolandatthehouse+011.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0RabW8Ut6lDY30Y_ZfUbg_iBjIIDjW0X75rgKLgMWc4FMRg6UdkJuCWTr_dP2dVI5Q5Ycz3Ih_4M7hm-WpRpRFlGZO_b-PtIs_0pK5VIZ0ayMffeJbefcCleo7SrzXTRdz3jIRrbt0uM/s200/ryliefirstdayofschoolandatthehouse+011.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5108239243753914370" border="0" /></a><br />Just one more....this is the best 20 bucks that I have spent in a long time....<br /> Target+Cinderella princess dress=pure happiness for a two year old.<br /><br />I splurged and got the "glass slippers" (aka plastic light up shoes) at the Disney store. She has officially begun her stint in the school arena, now it's only 18 or so more years to go and she will be all done. I love preschool, for a few reasons...first, I love that everyone is called Miss so and so, I think that we should do that more often, just classes everything up. Secondly, I love that everything is "just my size" according to ryles. There are toys galore...a great backyard play area. It is just wonderful and apart from the first two weeks, Rylie loves it. School has officially begun for me as well and it is fine. I have the same kids as I did last year with the exception of the four new ones and we are just rolling on through. It should be a good year. (Just a side note, they didn't all fail...I'm just teaching 2nd now) It seems time flies lately. So if I just hold tight it will be Christmas and then June again, right? Hope all is well. Take care.Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18371054415084578055noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1145991914739646130.post-12769616810967994992007-08-13T13:01:00.001-07:002007-09-09T09:21:42.325-07:00I did it, Yay me.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgosd9eL0qFm4s1YzlOfkM4WsrQ7XhyNdyi7V8o-ZGSwOC_IPoGwpB17piMmnX53QjHgBlsSyucdRfeUVznov1IhH8HaDtplnkyBp2y6ytiLDxgMyfKph9tfToD7CcZMHQ_tsNS1NnUsU/s1600-h/mariannesandboardwalk+037.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgosd9eL0qFm4s1YzlOfkM4WsrQ7XhyNdyi7V8o-ZGSwOC_IPoGwpB17piMmnX53QjHgBlsSyucdRfeUVznov1IhH8HaDtplnkyBp2y6ytiLDxgMyfKph9tfToD7CcZMHQ_tsNS1NnUsU/s200/mariannesandboardwalk+037.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5108240369035345938" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgek6yJmYpMNL66Ww3E_yldXjTckhuI-GIwwpPEh-EhXzIafHoHv8pYZ83rNbBDDMkaEBgt4aooSYECfhsy5fPrQRst_LlwW7iGh9ThhdBboElKT93YvtaCfXi3ZCu87DEUBM7ksB7cr3o/s1600-h/mariannesandboardwalk+094.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgek6yJmYpMNL66Ww3E_yldXjTckhuI-GIwwpPEh-EhXzIafHoHv8pYZ83rNbBDDMkaEBgt4aooSYECfhsy5fPrQRst_LlwW7iGh9ThhdBboElKT93YvtaCfXi3ZCu87DEUBM7ksB7cr3o/s200/mariannesandboardwalk+094.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5108240373330313250" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSEI40dg3lkVfTZbG_vMw9iIOczpdAeSxxWhKIiwowet64qNfTjNTZE-gfTlaq1TRG2MS-Z1AqZsiK_r2LltIN123I4u9CbV3UHQibvW3cCvHRknoSgXgvZ3wluHIibmik72R_WvHojd0/s1600-h/bonfire,+aquarium+santacruz+065.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSEI40dg3lkVfTZbG_vMw9iIOczpdAeSxxWhKIiwowet64qNfTjNTZE-gfTlaq1TRG2MS-Z1AqZsiK_r2LltIN123I4u9CbV3UHQibvW3cCvHRknoSgXgvZ3wluHIibmik72R_WvHojd0/s200/bonfire,+aquarium+santacruz+065.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5108240377625280562" border="0" /></a><br />So I am feeling very accomplished that I finally went on and did this whole blogging schebang. It needed to happen, I feel so uncool that I waited so long to be part of the trend. I hope it will be a good way to keep in touch with my favorite peeps, especially all my Davis friends that technically don't live in Davis anymore, but who I miss dearly and hope to get in touch with again. Everyone has all of these pictures of the cute little ones, new and old, and I figure I need to get on the band wagon for Ryles who is 2 going on 17. She is loving all things sugar and Disney princess right now. It is great having a girl. We went to the coast with my fam and she had a great time at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, the Boardwalk, the beach and Marianne's ice cream shop. We had to make a stop by that one twice...for her of course, to enjoy her vacation fully.Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18371054415084578055noreply@blogger.com3
